Vanilla Differences
Semi Vanilla Setup
- MCV values immersion and vanilla but is created to allow hundreds of players to exist within the same massive world.
- Commands of convenience include teleportation, land claims, player markets, gifting, and phantom toggle. To preserve survival gameplay, teleportation is blocked in the nether and the end.
- There are no custom enchants, skills, or items. All blocks sold and traded are mined by players in survival mode.
Sleep Mechanics
- MCV features a dynamic sleep that fluctuates with the moon cycle, allowing for night time gameplay, turtle hatching, and the convenience of skipping night most of the time.
PaperMC Server
- MCV is hosted using papermc software which does effect gameplay, changing some piston and redstone behavior. For better or for worse, most dupes are disabled.
Gameplay Changes
- Players can redeem Phantom Toggle in the vote shop.
- Backpacks are available for extra storage that is not lost on death.
- Dead chests protect player death items and allow a grace period for recovery.
- Player markets allow players to spoil themselves - use at your own risk! (Survival is fun!)
- Air drops are periodically dropped in the world with supplies. In the future these may be PvP zones.
Nether Portals
- As a precaution some entities, including boats, are blocked from teleporting through nether portals.
- It is our intentional to eventually allow full vanilla behaviour.
Anticheat, Optimizations
- During TPS drops, dense mob farms are temporarily nerfed.
- Trader Hall villagers may end up with an "Optimized" tag which reduces their AI. Trading continues to work and restock.
- Anti cheat is kept at a minimum to reduce false positives. We have the basics - players not playing survival will be banned.
